Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Management Services

Substance abuse treatment and inpatient medical detoxification program

provides a first step toward recovery

GRAND HAVEN, Mich., (January 17, 2024) – Trinity Health Grand Haven is now offering hospital-based inpatient medical detoxification to help people overcome withdrawal symptoms from drug and alcohol addictions.

New Vision at Trinity Health Grand Haven treats adults with a medically supervised hospital stay for inpatient stabilization, which usually lasts three days. The patient can detox from a substance in a safe, medically supervised environment.

“As a community hospital, we understand the importance of relationships and doing our part to restore hope for those experiencing this type of health challenge,” said Shelleye Yaklin, President, Trinity Health Grand Haven. “We’ve witnessed the effects of addiction on patients and families in our emergency department, and now, through our partnership with the experts at New Vision, our clinicians can play an active role in helping people start their recovery journey.”

New Vision at Trinity Health Grand Haven provides treatment for substances including opioids (heroin, OxyContin); alcohol; benzodiazepines (Valium, Xanax); methamphetamine; cocaine; combined substances; and prescription medications.

Discharge planning occurs prior to leaving the hospital. Patients are referred to appropriate community-based treatment programs to help prevent relapse and continue their treatment.

New Vision at Trinity Health Grand Haven accepts patients who self-refer; a physician’s referral is not necessary for admission. Patients can be admitted five days a week by a licensed physician and the service accepts most insurance plans.
